I am allergic to something and it's really bothering me. About two and a half months back I had to take precautionary Japanese Encephelitis shots and perhaps as a side effect of that, my arms are covered with ugly red rashes. It started off as an itch and slowly turned into this rash that doesn't seem to go away. The upper arms miraculously got ok and it started getting better and just when I was praising god almighty, today my neck and hairline is itchy. It better not start on my face. Really tired and sick of it. Am starting off on a serious course of medicine tomorrow. Hope it works out...

My life as an English Teacher
I go to class with hope
and spring in my steps
"good morning class"
"good morning mam", the class screams back
"homework?" I ask
And the volume reduces noticeably...
"Mam, I did not understand the assignment", says one
"I did not find my copy", says another
I will not get angry, I tell myself
and calmly proceed.
"Point out the adverb of manner", I say
"Jumped", replies Bornil,confident and smart.
Now my temperature's rising
I can clearly feel my face going red.
I repeat the question
"Honey", answers Trishita this time, demure and sweet
My mood's off by now
The spring's gone long ago...
I delve again into parts of speech.

old flame, new flash
An old entry from 2007:
Recently I caught up with an old flame of mine: photography.
Recently I caught up with an old flame of mine: photography.
When I was growing up, my mom was forever taking pictures. In fact we had so many pictures in our house that we used to store them in huge plastic bags instead of albums. I probably caught the bug from her. During my many experiements as a kid, I managed to break her lovely Olympus which no one was able to repair and we moved on from one camera to another, manuals and automatics. It is a big leap from those days to mobile phone cameras and digital cameras. (When I was a kid, a polaroid was only available in the US!)
What happened recently was that I got into this digital camera community in Orkut by sheer coincidence and then I then went on to flickr.com. Basically a person who has all the time in her hands and nothing to do, the contests in flickr take up all my time now. I live for the comments of the people who visit my pictures and in the evening when Sanjib comes and asks me "How was your day?", I tell him all that my flickr friends had to say in praise of my pictures.
Tomorrow is the last day for submitting coca cola pictures (any picture with anything related to coca cola) and I will surely have a sleepless night! This is the story of my useless life as of now! Hmm...what of someone from corbis sees my pictures and wants to buy the whole lot? Let's end writing and start clicking!
Planning to run in the Guwahati Half Marathon...and training starts today! a bit late but then, let's go!!! Today and tomorrow I continue a 40-minute walk...and start with Week 1 schedule from sunday. Hope Sanjib joins in :)

Enid Blyton, Jane Austen, Agatha Christie...best friends, companions and big chunks of my heart...you shaped my dreams, my life, my thoughts. Yes, there are so many more, so many many many many more but amongst them all, you three have held my hand whenever I needed good homely comfort...just like a good hot cup of tea. Just a comfy place and you with me, and the world is a better place once again.
